waxahatchee-out-in-the-storm-new-lp
Waxahatchee - Out in the Storm - New LP

Out in the Storm, Katie Crutchfield’s fourth album as Waxahatchee and the follow-up to her Merge debut Ivy Tripp, is the blazing result of a woman reawakened. Her most autobiographical and honest album to date, Out in the Storm is a self-reflective anchor in the story of both her songwriting and her life.
Out in the Storm by Waxahatchee
The album was tracked at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia with John Agnello, a producer, recording engineer, and mixer known for working with some of the most iconic musicians of the last 25 years, including Dinosaur Jr. and Sonic Youth. Agnello and Crutchfield worked together for most of December, along with the band: sister Allison Crutchfield on keyboards and percussion, Katherine Simonetti on bass, and Ashley Arnwine on drums; Katie Harkin, touring guitarist with Sleater-Kinney, also contributed lead guitar. At Agnello’s suggestion, the group recorded most of the music live to enhance their unity in a way that gives the album a fuller sound compared to past releases, resulting in one of Waxahatchee’s most guitar-driven releases to date.

LP (Standard)
- album on black vinyl
- 12" × 24" poster insert with a portrait of Katie Crutchfield on one side and full lyrics on the other
- uncoated stock jacket with silver foil details
- full download

Katie Crutchfield: vocals, guitars, keyboards, bass, additional percussion

Katie Harkin: vocals, guitars, keyboards, piano, additional percussion
Allison Crutchfield: keyboards, additional percussion
Ashley Arnwine: drums
Katherine Simonetti: bass
Joey Doubek: additional percussion

All songs written by Katie Crutchfield and published by Domino Publishing Company (BMI)

Engineered by John Agnello
Produced by John Agnello and Katie Crutchfield
Tracking assistance by Matt Schimelfenig
Tracked at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia, PA
Mixed at Water Music Recording Studios in Hoboken, NJ
Mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound
Photos by Daniel Shea
Design by Daniel Murphy

Thank you: Rennie Jaffe, Timmy Hefner, Mac McCaughan, Laura Ballance, Eric Dimenstein, Mark Bowen, Steven Thomassen, Joey Doubek, Jess Clarke, Jeff Pachman, Sam Cook-Parrott, Kate Illes, Kathryn Formoso, Kate Hewett, Sharon, Bella and Sara Agnello, Kyle Gilbride, Cynthia Schemmer, Jeff Bolt, Marco Reosti, Joe Steinhardt, Brian McTear, Eloy Lugo, everyone at Merge, everyone at Ground Control Touring and Toutpartout and all of our families!

—

Demos credits:

Katie Crutchfield: vocals, guitar, bass, drum machine, keys
Katherine Simonetti: bass
Ashley Arnwine: drums

All songs written and recorded by Katie Crutchfield

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0994/1683/4344/files/waxahatchee---out-in-the-storm---new-lp_1.jpg?v=1793373744
